Thai massage, or sometimes called Thai yoga bodywork/therapy, is a practice that came from Thailand and its influences came from India, China, and indigenous Thai traditions. It has now become extremely popular in the West, as yoga and many other alternative healing modalities are becoming more and more common and accepted in our culture. It is essentially a full body treatment that releases muscle tension, increases joint mobility, and relaxes the nervous system. It is commonly used to promote relaxation as well as a preventative treatment to maintain overall health and avoid common injuries resulting from strenuous physical activities and exercises.
In 2013, I studied Thai massage (Level 1 & 2) with yoga and Thai massage teacher Adam Rinder, and since then, I have been offering private Thai yoga bodywork sessions in clients' homes as well as teaching simple techniques to couples during partner yoga workshops.
